TAYLOR FLURY
Head Trainer â—¦ Breeder â—¦ Rider
When Taylor was 16, she began on the path she follows today; developing young horses into top-level performers. She is the breeding manager and also responsible for developing all young horses at AliBoo Farm. She determines which mares are bred to which stallions and which colts should stay as stallion prospects. Taylor is characterized as goal oriented, determined, focused, and driven to succeed. While at the same time being patient, disciplined, and compassionate towards the horses she works with. Taylor believes strongly in working within the community to be a voice for growth and development; as such, she has sat on the Board of Directors for the BWP Breed Registry and Blogged for The Chronicle of the Horse. Currently, she sits on the USHJA Young Jumper Task Force Committee.
Unlike most professionals, she is the first one to sit on most of the horses that she rides and shows; starting them as young horses and developing them through the ranks. Multiple young horses started by Taylor that have gone on to be national champions in the hunter, jumper, and equitation rings. Taylor is of the minority in the US in which she has taken young horses previously not started undersaddle and developed them into competitive FEI Grand Prix Jumpers. Her passion and talent in developing young horses is easily witnessed; as she equates it to being able to start fresh with impressionable minds that allow one to develop the horse in a confident, positive manner.
Differing from your typical “Horse Professional,” Taylor is highly diverse in the horse industry as she is involved in every aspect of the process. She has such a wide network of people and connections as a whole because not only does she ride, and teach clinics all over the US; but she is also highly involved in the breeding world with standing stallions and breeding foals.
